Job Description: We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a school-based position in Westland, MI. The successful candidate will work with students to improve their communication abilities, supporting their academic and social development.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough assessments to diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders in students.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to address each student’s specific communication needs.
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services using evidence-based practices.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school professionals to support and monitor student progress.
- Maintain detailed documentation of student evaluations, therapy sessions, and progress reports.
- Participate in IEP meetings, providing expert recommendations for accommodations and interventions.
- Educate and support school staff and parents on strategies to assist students with speech and language development.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid Michigan SLP license.
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred.
- Experience in a school setting is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
