School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Norfolk, VA

Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a school-based position in Norfolk, VA. The successful candidate will work with students to improve their communication abilities, supporting their academic and social development.
Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive assessments to diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders in students.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to address each student’s needs.
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services using evidence-based practices.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school professionals to support and monitor student progress.
- Maintain detailed records of student evaluations, therapy sessions, and progress reports.
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide expert recommendations for accommodations and interventions.
- Educate and support school staff and parents on strategies to support students’ speech and language development.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid Virginia SLP license.
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred.
- Experience in a school setting is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
