Job Description: Speech-Language Pathologist (School-Based)
Qualifications:
- Education:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Licensure and Certification:
- Valid Ohio Board of Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology License.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from ASHA (preferred).
- Ohio Department of Education Pupil Services License for Speech-Language Pathologists (required for school-based practice).
- Experience:
- Prior experience in a school setting is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with working on IEP teams and serving diverse student populations.
- Skills:
- Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- Proficiency in evaluation tools and therapy techniques tailored to school-aged children.
- Ability to manage time effectively and adapt to varying caseloads.
Requirements:
- Completion of state and federal background checks as required by Ohio law.
- Compliance with local school district policies and procedures.
- Current CPR and First Aid certification (preferred).
Position Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our team. This school-based role involves working with students to assess, diagnose, and treat communication and swallowing disorders, helping them reach their full potential in an educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations to diagnose speech, language, and communication disorders.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and IEP (Individualized Education Program) goals.
- Provide therapy sessions, both individually and in groups, tailored to students' specific needs.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to support students' academic and social success.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with federal, state, and district regulations.
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide recommendations for accommodations and modifications.
- Stay current with best practices, research, and technology in speech-language pathology.
