Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for a school-based position in Hartford, CT. The ideal candidate will work with students to enhance their communication skills and support their academic and social success.
Responsibilities:
- Assess, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders in students.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) to address each student’s specific needs.
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students, utilizing evidence-based practices.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support student progress and success.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of student evaluations, therapy sessions, and progress.
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide expert recommendations for accommodations and interventions.
- Educate and support school staff and parents on strategies to aid students’ speech and language development.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Valid Connecticut SLP license.
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred.
- Previous experience in a school setting is highly desirable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
