School Based Speech Language Pathologist Assistant: Richland, NE
Introduction:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team in Richland, NE. As an SLPA, you will support the Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) in providing speech and language therapy services to students. Key Responsibilities:

Therapy Support: Assist Speech-Language Pathologists in implementing therapy plans and interventions for students with speech and language disorders. Conduct individual and group therapy sessions as directed by the supervising SLP.

Assessment Assistance: Help in administering assessments and evaluations to determine students' communication needs under the guidance of the supervising SLP. Collect and record data related to student progress and therapy outcomes.

Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, therapy activities, and any relevant observations. Prepare reports and documentation as required by district and state regulations.

Classroom Support: Collaborate with classroom teachers and special education staff to support students in integrating therapy goals into their classroom activities and daily routines. Provide recommendations and strategies to support students' communication needs within the classroom.

Communication: Serve as a liaison between the SLP, students, teachers, and parents. Communicate effectively with all stakeholders regarding students' progress, goals, and needs.

Professional Development: Participate in professional development opportunities and training sessions to stay current with best practices in speech-language pathology. Attend team meetings and workshops as required.

Student Advocacy: Advocate for students' communication needs and work to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment. Help to ensure that students receive the necessary accommodations and support to succeed.
Qualifications:

Education: Associate’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology Assistant, Communication Sciences, or a related field. Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Certification: Current certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant in Nebraska. (If certification is pending, state any requirements for obtaining it.)

Experience: Prior experience working with children or in an educational setting is preferred. Experience supporting students with speech and language disorders is a plus.

Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, ability to follow therapy plans and instructions, and proficiency in maintaining organized records. Ability to work collaboratively with students, teachers, and other professionals.
