Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct thorough assessments of students' speech, language, and communication abilities to identify any challenges or areas needing support.
- Individualized Therapy Plans: Develop and implement personalized therapy plans tailored to each student's unique needs, focusing on improving their communication skills and overall academic performance.
- Collaborative Teamwork: Work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to create a supportive network for students. Your insights and expertise will help in developing effective strategies for classroom integration and success.
- Direct Therapy Services: Provide engaging and interactive therapy sessions that motivate students to improve their speech and language skills. Use innovative techniques and resources to make learning fun and effective.
- Progress Monitoring: Regularly track and document students' progress, adjusting therapy plans as needed to ensure they continue to make strides in their communication abilities.
- Supportive Environment: Foster a positive and inclusive environment where students feel safe and encouraged to express themselves. Your empathy and understanding will make a lasting impact on their lives.
- Professional Development: Stay current with the latest research and best practices in speech-language pathology. Attend workshops, conferences, and training sessions to continuously enhance your skills and knowledge.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current state licensure and certification (CCC-SLP) through the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA)
- Experience working with children in a school setting is highly desirable
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment
