Virtual School Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
Location: New York (Remote)
Employment Type: Full-Time Contract
Pay: $50/Hour
Key Responsibilities:
- Assessment and Diagnosis: Conduct virtual evaluations and assessments of students with speech and language concerns. Use standardized testing methods and clinical observations to identify speech, language, and communication disorders.
- Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Collaborate with educators, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's needs.
- Therapy Sessions: Provide one-on-one and group speech therapy sessions via teletherapy platforms. Utilize evidence-based practices and innovative techniques to address articulation, fluency, voice, and language disorders.
- Progress Monitoring: Regularly monitor and document students' progress toward IEP goals. Adjust therapy plans as needed to ensure students achieve their speech and language objectives.
- Collaboration: Work closely with teachers, administrators, and families to support students' overall academic and social-emotional success. Participate in IEP meetings and provide professional guidance on speech and language concerns.
- Compliance: Ensure all services are delivered in compliance with New York state and federal regulations, including maintaining accurate records and documentation for all students served.
- Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in speech-language pathology and teletherapy. Engage in ongoing professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Licensure: Valid New York State license as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Certification: Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
- Experience: Previous experience working in a school setting and/or providing teletherapy services is highly desirable.
- Technical Proficiency: Comfortable using virtual platforms for therapy sessions, with strong digital literacy skills.
