Position Overview:
We are seeking a fully remote Speech-Language Pathologist to begin in January, supporting schools across Illinois. As an independent contractor, you will provide speech-language services via live videoconferencing on a HIPAA/FERPA-compliant platform. We supply all necessary software, training, and technical support to ensure a smooth transition to online service delivery.
Job Details:
- Term: 23/24 school year (Maternity leave options available)
- Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week (Part-time candidates also considered)
- Caseload: Middle school students
- Focus Areas: Primarily mild to moderate articulation therapy, with some expressive language therapy
- School Locations: Two sites—one serving approximately 17 students, and the other around 30 students
- Role: Case management for students with speech-only services
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP)
- Active Illinois Speech-Language Pathologist License
- Valid Illinois Teaching Certificate
- Strong communication skills in English
- Successful completion of a criminal background check
- Minimum of 2 years of recent experience in a school setting
- Proficiency with technology and virtual platforms
- Professional liability insurance required
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, assess, and provide interventions for students with speech-language challenges
- Develop individualized goals and track student progress in a virtual environment
- Conduct evaluations using both standardized and authentic assessment tools
- Collaborate on curriculum guides and policies related to speech and language needs
- Provide teletherapy services through HIPAA/FERPA-compliant technology
- Deliver speech/language services to individuals and small groups
- Develop instructional programs to meet students' needs and ensure successful outcomes
- Create and present Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) to parents, students, and school teams
- Tailor instructional strategies to accommodate diverse student needs
- Set clear objectives for lessons and activities
- Participate in school-wide parent-teacher conferences as required
- Use a variety of instructional techniques and resources suited to student needs
- Regularly assess and adjust interventions based on student progress
- Maintain detailed lesson plans and documentation
- Build strong relationships with parents and remain available for inquiries beyond school hours
- Uphold ethical standards and ensure licensure is up to date
- Engage in professional development and exhibit a professional demeanor at all times

- Provide teletherapy training for school facilitators with support from VocoVision’s clinical supervisors
