We are seeking a skilled and certified Remote Sign Language Interpreter to join our team and support students, teachers, and parents within our Nevada school district. This remote role is essential for ensuring effective communication and fostering an inclusive educational environment. Responsibilities:
- Administer real-time sign language interpretation during live remote classes, meetings, and other school-related activities
- Support students in understanding lesson content, participating in discussions, and engaging with educational materials
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, and other school personnel to ensure that communication needs are met
- Modify interpretation techniques and strategies to suit different teaching styles and content areas
- Uphold records of interpreted sessions and provide feedback on communication effectiveness
Qualifications:
- National Interpreter Certification (NIC) or equivalent, with a strong command of American Sign Language (ASL)
- Proven experience interpreting in an educational setting, preferably in a remote environment
- Exceptional sign language interpretation skills with the ability to convey complex concepts clearly
- Patient, compassionate, and flexible with a dedication to providing high-quality support to students
