New York Speech-Language Pathologist - Remote Position (2024/2025 School Year)

Responsibilities:
- Conduct remote evaluations, diagnoses, and treatments for students with speech and language disorders.
- Collaborate with a team to provide diagnostic recommendations for students requiring special education services.
- Work with the Special Education Coordinator to identify and propose IEP goals and develop treatment plans.
- Serve as an expert resource for staff regarding oral communication, speech, language, and literacy programs.
- Collect and analyze data related to school performance and student outcomes.
- Help teachers and families implement differentiated instructional strategies for increased student engagement.
Skills:
- Experience in remote therapy settings is preferred but not required.
- Strong communication skills to build relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
- Proficiency with documentation and report preparation software.
- Ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to speech therapy tools.
- Commitment to supporting diverse student populations, including at-risk, gifted, and special needs children.
- Strong decision-making, organizational, and communication skills.
- Attention to detail and a focus on accurate documentation.
Experience:
- 2-3 years of experience in a school setting.
- Experience with articulation, receptive, and expressive speech therapy in a remote setting is a plus.
- Teletherapy experience is a bonus but not required.
Education:
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders.
License:
- Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in New York.
- Candidate must hold an active license in both their state of residence and the state in which the school district is located.
Platform:
- HIPAA/FERPA-compliant platform (VocoVision).
- Zoom interface, scheduling tools, and continuing education resources.
- Interactive therapy tools, including games, digitized assignments, and assessments.
- No student data is stored in the platform.
