Position Overview:
- Role: School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
- Location: Fairbanks, AK
- School Year: 2025-2026
- Caseload: K-12 (Diverse student population)
- Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday (Middle School Hours: 7:30 AM - 2:30 PM)
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and evaluations to determine student eligibility for speech-language services.
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to the specific needs of each student.
- Provide direct speech and language therapy in individual and group settings across all grade levels.
- Collaborate effectively with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support student communication development.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of student progress.
- Participate actively in IEP meetings and other relevant school meetings.
Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current and valid Alaska SLP license.
- Experience working with a diverse K-12 student population is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of speech and language disorders across all age groups.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills.
- Ability to adapt to a unique and dynamic school environment within the interior of Alaska.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Competitive hourly rate, commensurate with experience, offered as a W2 contract.
- The average hourly pay range for W2 contract School SLPs in the Fairbanks, AK, area is approximately $45-$65, with the actual rate determined by qualifications, experience, and the cost of living considerations.
