Position: Full-Time Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)
Location: Elkton, MD
Overview:
A school in Elkton, MD, is seeking a dedicated full-time Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA). In this role, you will work closely with a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide direct speech and language therapy services to students. This is a great opportunity to make a positive impact on students' communication skills in a supportive school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement therapy sessions in accordance with the treatment plans created by the supervising SLP
- Assist in the creation and execution of individualized education programs (IEPs)
- Accurately track and document student progress
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to address student needs and ensure success
- Participate in team meetings to discuss student progress and make adjustments to therapy plans as needed
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Active SLPA license in Maryland
- Previous experience in a school setting preferred but not required
- Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team
