Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team in Corning, AR, working with K-6 students. This full-time position involves supporting children with speech and language challenges in a school environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Support Therapy Sessions: Assist the Speech-Language Pathologist in conducting individual and group therapy sessions designed for K-6 students.
- Implement Treatment Plans: Carry out established therapy plans under the supervision of a licensed SLP, focusing on age-appropriate activities and interventions.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate records of student progress and document therapy sessions as required.
- Collaboration: Work closely with educators, families, and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment for students.
- Prepare Materials: Assist in preparing and organizing educational materials for therapy and assessments.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field.
- Certification: Current Arkansas SLPA certification or eligibility to obtain one.
- Experience: Previous experience in a school setting, particularly with elementary-aged children, is preferred but not required.
- Skills: Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational abilities, along with a passion for working with young learners.
