Job Description:
We are seeking a qualified Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our team in the north Austin area. The position involves working across two elementary school sites, supporting students with varied disabilities, primarily focusing on articulation, language delay, and pragmatic language. Both schools have an Early Childhood Special Education (ECSE) program, and familiarity with the ARD process and school-based Full Individual Evaluations (FIEs) is essential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech therapy services to students with a variety of communication disorders.
- Support students in group settings (groups of 4).
- Manage a caseload of approximately 20 students per school and conduct new evaluations as needed.
- Assist with creating and implementing a school-based speech therapy schedule.
- Use behavior management strategies to support student success.
- Collect and report data for progress monitoring.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2-3 years of experience as an SLPA in a school setting.
- Experience with speech/language screenings and creating school-based therapy schedules.
- Knowledge of Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) and familiarity with eSped.
- Understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the SLPA and SLP.
- Strong grasp of the ARD process and experience conducting school-based FIEs.
- Ability to work on-site only for the current school year.
