We are currently seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join a supportive school district in Newport News, VA. This full-time position offers an immediate start and the chance to make a significant impact on students’ communication skills and academic success.
Position Overview:
As an SLP, you will assess, diagnose, and treat speech and language disorders for students of varying ages. Your role will involve collaborating with teachers, families, and other school staff to ensure students reach their communication and learning goals.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct evaluations to identify speech and language impairments.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans for students.
- Provide direct therapy sessions in individual and group settings.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and other professionals to support students’ IEP goals.
- Maintain accurate documentation and track student progress.
- Participate in IEP meetings and provide professional recommendations.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Active Virginia SLP license and ASHA certification (CCC-SLP preferred).
- Experience in school-based settings or with pediatric populations is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
