Elementary Speech Therapy Assistant

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our dynamic team in Aldine, TX. The SLPA will assist in providing speech and language services to students with communication disorders, supporting the Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) in the implementation of therapy plans. This role offers the opportunity to positively impact students' lives while working in a collaborative school setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Speech-Language Pathologist in conducting speech and language evaluations for students.
- Provide direct speech and language therapy services to students in accordance with their IEPs.
- Implement individualized therapy plans and goals under the guidance of the supervising SLP.
- Monitor and document student progress regularly.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to ensure the best outcomes for students.
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the development of goals and strategies.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of therapy sessions and student progress.
- Provide consultation to staff and parents regarding speech and language development.
- Ensure a positive and effective learning environment for all students.
Qualifications:
- Current SLPA license in the state of Texas.
- Experience working with elementary school-aged children preferred.
- Knowledge of speech and language development and disorders.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation.
