Our partner school in Kansas City, Kansas is searching for a full-time certified Deaf and Hard of Hearing Teacher. We are looking for a compassionate educator wanting to work with a few students as a part of our Special Education team!
Requirements:
- Must have an active Kansas License in Deaf Education
- Must have a Master’s Degree in Education for Teaching Deaf Students
- You do not have to be fluent in ASL to be considered for this position
About the Position:
- Caseload: PreK - 12th grade students, approximately 10 students on caseload
- Current School Year: ASAP Start
- Part-time: approximately 25 hours per week
- Pay Rate: $25 - $40 per hour, depending on previous experience
- Provide language and communication support to students by utilizing a variety of approaches, including sign language, speech, lip-reading, and written communication.
- Foster language development, vocabulary acquisition, and effective communication skills.
- Collaborate with general education teachers, special education staff, interpreters, and other professionals to ensure the effective inclusion of students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Participate in Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings, providing input and recommendations for accommodations, modifications, and services.
