Contract Speech Language Pathologist Assistant
ProCare Therapy is working with a school district in Fullerton, CA that is looking to hire a Certified Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant for the 2024-2025 school year with the opportunity to renew for the following school year.
The SLPA will work under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to provide direct support to students with communication disorders or delays.
The selected candidate will be hired on as a full time contracted employee through ProCare Therapy. A full school year contract will be awarded for you to complete. Schedule:
- Full time: 32.5 hours per week
- Monday - Friday
- October 2024 - June 2025
- Hours: 8:00 - 3:00
- K-12th grade caseload
- Supervision will be provided
Responsibilities:
- Conducting assessments to identify speech and language disorders in students. Administering standardized tests and informal evaluations to gather information on communication abilities.
- Collaborating with the SLP to develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment results.
- Implementing therapeutic activities and interventions to address communication goals.
- Providing direct therapy to students individually or in small groups. Using various techniques and tools to improve communication skills, including speech sounds, language development, fluency, and pragmatic skills.
- Regularly monitoring and documenting students' progress in meeting communication goals. Communicating with the SLP to adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Working closely with teachers and parents to integrate speech and language goals into the classroom and home environments. Providing guidance and strategies for supporting communication development outside of therapy sessions.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Speech Pathology or Communication Disorders
- SLPA license in California
- Previous school experience is preferred
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check
